Academics
Academic Mission
In keeping with the academic mission of Lehigh University, as it correlates to the founding educational principles inherent in the philosophy and wishes of Asa Packer, we, the Brothers of Alpha Tau Omega, recognize the immense importance of individual and collective academic success. Our belief is that while there is a vast degree of self-motivation in setting academic goals and self-control in achieving them, the body of our membership in a brotherhood can effectively facilitate, promote, and reward those students exceeding expectations, while at the same time encouraging increased devotion and providing support networks for struggling students.
within this philosophy, we consider the following aspects of the academic experience at Lehigh University to be of utmost importance:
- Regular class attendance
- Planned preparation for mid-term and final exams
- Setting and achieving both individual and group academic goals
- Organized and managed study and/or quiet hours
- Effective academic mentoring and/or tutoring
- Preparation for life beyond Lehigh University
