About Us
ATO at Lehigh is not only a place to celebrate great times with lifelong friends. Between the hourly exams, intense intramural games, and weekend tailgates the Brothers of Alpha Tau Omega enjoy four years of growth and maturation. Living at ATO provides an environment full with pride, support, and responsibility. Within these walls the most memorable moments of my life have been shared with 40 of my best friends. You just can’t get that experience anywhere else.
Chapter History
- Alpha Rho Chapter was founded in 1882.
- The chapter house is located right near “Look-Out Point” on Lehigh’s Greek Row (“The Hill”). It has been at the same location since the early 1970′s when the house was built.
- The brotherhood has had a long tradition of varsity athletes including Football, Wrestling and Basketball.
- In 2007, the brotherhood honored the chapter’s 125th Anniversary by earning ‘True Merit’ from our National Fraternity for the very first time.
The Creed of Alpha Tau Omega
To bind men together in a brotherhood based upon eternal and immutable principles, with a bond as strong as right itself and as lasting as humanity; to know no North, no South, no East, no West, but to know man as man, to teach that true men the world over should stand together and contend for supremacy of good over evil; to teach, not politics, but morals; to foster, not partisanship, but the recognition of true merit wherever found; to have no narrower limits within which to work together for the elevation of man than the outlines of the world: these were the thoughts and hopes uppermost in the minds of the founders of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
